It all started with an old television.
Funny how something so simple can spark an idea that takes on a life of its own.
If you've been following along for a while, you know how much I love Christmas. The nostalgia, the traditions, the memories, and that wonderful feeling of stepping back in time. Every year, I try to bring a little of that old-fashioned Christmas magic into our home.
But this year, I had something a little different in mind.
What began as an idea for styling an old television slowly grew into something much bigger. I started imagining different corners of our home as little destinations, each one inspired by the charm of a small town at Christmastime.
Before I knew it, I wasn't just planning my Christmas decorations anymore. I was creating an entire town.
And that's how Kringle Square came to be.
I imagined a place where Christmas traditions are still alive and well. Where visitors arrive at a charming old train station, stop by a cozy café, browse a department store filled with holiday treasures, and visit a Christmas tree farm before gathering to listen to the carolers.
A place that feels as though it belongs in an old Christmas movie.
Of course, Kringle Square isn't an actual town. It's our little rental cottage, transformed one corner at a time into a Christmas village of my imagination.
And that's what has made this project so much fun.
I've spent months collecting little treasures, creating signs, dreaming up storefronts, and figuring out how to make each destination feel like its own special place. Many of the things you'll see are pieces I've collected over the years, thrifted finds, or items I've repurposed in unexpected ways.
Every little detail has been chosen to help tell the story.
And now, after months of planning, I'm finally ready to welcome you!
Each week throughout the Christmas season, I'll be revealing a new destination in Kringle Square. From its charming little shops to its gathering places and hidden corners, there's so much I'm looking forward to sharing.
We've already made our first stop at Kris Kringle Station, where every Christmas journey begins. But there are plenty of places left to explore!
I hope you'll follow along here on the blog and over on Instagram and Facebook as I continue opening the doors to Kringle Square, one destination at a time.
More than anything, I hope this little town brings you the same joy I've felt creating it. That it reminds you of the Christmases you remember, the traditions you love, and the magic that makes this time of year so special.
Because sometimes the biggest ideas begin with the smallest things.
And in this case, it all started with an old TV.
Welcome to Kringle Square. And this is only the beginning.
Sincerely,
Kari Anne
